Why Your Card May Be Declined
Most card declines happen because the bank needs extra verification or has blocked the transaction for security reasons. Common reasons include:
- Authentication Required (3D Secure): Your bank may ask you to complete an extra security step (such as 3D Secure). If this step isn’t completed, the payment will be declined.
- Unknown Decline: Sometimes the bank declines a payment without giving a specific reason. In this case, you will need to contact your card issuer for more information.
- Card Not Supported: Your card may not support this type of purchase or currency. Please check with your bank.
- Limit Reached: Your card’s daily limit, balance, or credit limit may have been exceeded.
- Expired or Incorrect Card Details: The card may be expired, or the number/CVC may have been entered incorrectly. Please double‑check your details.
